Windows 7 does NT 4 Domains (NOT!)

// October 22nd, 2009 // No Comments » // News

Today, Windows 7 was released to “general availability” and shipping into stores all over. Upon this glorious event I had a little, sour note to add…

Windows 7 or Windows 2008 R2 Server is by design not capable to join the elderly Windows NT 4 based domains. For those that have not upgraded their network’s domains to any of the Active Directory based ones, this is rather slightly sad and inconvenient news.
